About Us

Board games this old don't need reinventing, just a clean place to actually play them - which is most of what Yenub set out to build with this particular shelf.

Alongside standard chess and checkers there's a scattering of variant rulesets, a few AI difficulty tiers for chess so newer players aren't thrown against a merciless engine right away, and quick-play checkers modes for shorter sessions. Move history and basic hints are available without cluttering the board.

Being able to step back through a finished game and see exactly where it turned mattered enough to keep that move-history feature front and center rather than tucking it away in a settings menu.

Everything runs in the browser as HTML5, so a game can start on one device and, session permitting, continue on another.

Yenub is funded through advertising, keeping every board free to sit down at and there's no rating system pressuring a casual game into feeling like ranked play..
