Top Tips

• Don't rush your pieces forward just because you can. Every forward jump is a one-way ticket until you hit the back row, so plan the route before you commit.
• Guard your back line as long as possible. Once those squares empty out, the opponent's pieces get a free pass to become kings, and that changes everything.
• Bait the AI into bad trades. Sometimes leaving a piece exposed forces a jump that opens up a bigger capture chain in your favor two moves later.
• Watch the edges of the board. Pieces sitting on the outer columns can only be attacked from one side, which makes them surprisingly safe parking spots mid-game.
• Count captures before you click. A trade that looks even on the surface can quietly hand your opponent a clear diagonal straight to their kinging row.

How To Play

• Click a piece to pick it up, then click a valid diagonal square to move it.
• Early on, your checkers only jump forward, so every capture has to come from ahead of the piece.
• Land a piece on the opponent's last row and it gets promoted, unlocking movement in any direction from that point on.
• Capturing is mandatory when the option is there, so keep an eye out for forced jumps before you plan your next move.
• Clear the board of every enemy piece and the round is yours.

The forward-only rule for un-kinged checkers adds a layer most casual players forget about, forcing you to think two or three moves ahead instead of just grabbing the nearest capture. Get a piece to that back row, though, and suddenly the whole board opens up. The goal never changes: eat everything the other side has left, one careful diagonal at a time.
